I have said before, that I am honored each and every time a family asks me to capture a special milestone in their lives.
The waiting for a new life in Maternity Portraits, meeting that new life in Fresh 48 Photography or Newborn Portraits and of course birthdays, growing up or just how life has changed in a year with Family Portraits. I can't tell my amazing clients thank you enough for allowing me in.
But, but when a previous Maternity Portrait and Newborn portrait client asks about a Military Homecoming session......I have to say, honored doesn't even begin it. I have actually wanted to do a Military Homecoming, but had never been asked.
I though I would be a complete sobbing, sappy mess, but I wasn't (until I edited the photos, but that's another story). I was in awe of the families, their signs, their excitement. Rain or not, these families were not going to wait in their cars to see their sailor. And so, we were all allowed on the ship. Which was a first for me.
Inside you see new dads meeting their baby, proposals, excited kids and basically tears of joy everywhere.
And it was awesome.
I LOVED seeing Nick as he waved Anna over to an area away from the big crowd. I LOVED even more how much Nick wanted to hold, cuddle and love on his baby girl.
And I was able to photograph it. I may or may not have photo bombed a news story on channel 4, but I didn't want to miss a hug, a kiss, a moment.
So, here are only a few of my favorites from this session.
Have an amazing Friday!
